Capital planning is essential for preparing your organization for the eventual renewal of your building’s various systems. This workshop will provide an overview of what a capital plan is and what you'll need to develop one, including the building condition assessment (BCA) and its liabilities, project costing, project bundling and scheduling, potential funding sources, and identifying surplus and shortfall.

Keys to Successful Tenancies: Tenant Education

This workshop will explore the unique challenges and opportunities when housing vulnerable tenant populations. Coming from a position of preventing housing instability, this session will explore how the combination of tenant and housing provider education, supports, community resources and systems increases successful tenancies, reduces damages and prevents evictions.

Housing in the North

Many Canadians have not had the opportunity to see the vast land north of the 60th parallel. It is a huge land mass with a population of just over 100,000 across three territories, making the logistics associated with developing housing in these communities unique. But challenges create the opportunity to be innovative! In this session, we’ll share our northern housing experiences and successes, and discuss the Yukon’s Housing Action Plan and its implications for housing in the north.
