Housing Tenants During Redevelopment
The affordable housing sector is transforming in many ways, and with an aging infrastructure on low density properties, our physical infrastructure is also ready for redevelopment. Such processes are complex for all stakeholders involved, but perhaps most so for the people who live in housing that’s being redeveloped. And there are no easy answers. This session will explore potential solutions for re-homing tenants during redevelopment by first looking at examples of what has worked elsewhere, and by then engaging in a facilitated dialogue to potential Island-made solutions in communities with a limited rental housing supply. Come prepared with creative ideas to a complex problem, and make connections with other housing providers experiencing similar challenges.
